events & workshops to be held during 2008.

Contact the
studio to arrange group
tour and demo. Schools, family groups, corporate team
building, or workshops are offered. Reservations required and
price depends on itinerary and number of participants. A
minimum of 10 participants in a group tour or
event. Prices start at $100 for a private
group tour with demonstration.

Play with Clay
- Every Sunday from 1pm-3pm
$25 per
person. Reservations required. Have you ever wondered what it
is like to create pottery on the wheel? This two-hour mini
class is perfect for those who would like an to acquaint themselves
with the medium of clay....or can be used as a means to possibly
improve throwing techniques if already experienced in clay.
Instruction, materials and tools included. Due to the nature
of the process it is impossible to bring home your work created
during this one-time class. Adults only please, unless a
family or group of 4 or more reserves the day. Please dress to
get dirty.
Hands-on Pit and Smoke Firing
Workshop Instructor:
Dawn Soltysiak Saturday-Sunday,
May 17th & 18th $125 per person
Experience
hands-on the primitive
firing techniques of pit and smoke
firing. Learn which clays work best and how to
prepare them to receive the best color. Learn tips on how to
avoid disaster. Participants are allowed to
bring up to 10 bisque fired pots to fire during the
workshop. Space is limited, reservations required.
$30 non-refundable registration fee and remainder due 30days prior to

"Animals in Clay"
by Sarah Hubbard Exhibit: July
2nd-27th Hours: Wed-Sun 10am-5pm or by Appt. Details about
artist
Sarah’s hand built clay sculptures
are inspired by her love of animals, also by her
interest in Mexican folk-art and other artistic traditions that
have a close link to
nature.

July "Quick & Easy" hands-on workshop.
Grape Leaf Bowls Suitable to ALL skill levels - Reservations
required. Thursday, July 3rd 1pm-3pm $40 per person including all
materials, glazing and firing.
Make your own bowl using real leaves
and clay. Pieces to be fired and glazed by the studio after the
workshop is complete. (Participants can make arrangements to come
back and glaze the piece themselves)
Students to pick-up
bowls within 30 days of workshop completion. Studio will make
arrangements to ship finished item to students for an extra
fee

"A Joining of Elements" by Don Doezema Exhibit: July 30th - Aug 31st Hours:
Wed-Sun 10am-5pm or by appointment Details about
artist
Don Doezema’s bandsaw boxes are sculptural forms that
nestle in the hand, providing tactile and visual
pleasure. The joined
boxes are frequently lined with ultrasuede or leather, and have
trays and dividers to serve various uses. In all his work, Doezema
matches and cuts pieces to achieve continuous grain patterns and
visual cohesiveness.Each piece is finished with thin coats of
varnish that emphasize the beauty of the wood and provide
tactile warmth. Many of his
pieces are joined with pottery elements created by his wife
Mary.

August Fernwood Farm Kids Camp -
Clay & Paper For
details The art camp will
be held in two half-day blocks that begin on Friday, Aug. 1st
and end on August 8th. This art camp is appropriate for
children age's 9 and up. The cost is $50 per child and
reservations are required.
The will
be an lemonade & cookie artist's reception on Sun., Aug.
17th from 3pm-4:30pm, public is welcome to come see the student's
work and enjoy the reception.

"From the Earth" by
Kendra McKimmy Exhibit:
September 3rd-28th Hours: Wed-Sun 10am-5pm -or by
appointment Details about artist
Kendra considers herself a mixed
media artist/jeweler and believes that recycling is important to all
of us. Her primitive art is influenced by the
rivers and forests around her.
Her primary material is stoneware or
porcelain clay. Then each piece is assembled
using various natural materials that she will find, buy or
recycle.

19th Annual Blue Coast Artists Fall Tour of
Studios Tour the 7 members studios during a crisp fall weekend
and be treated to complimentary refreshments and art-making
demonstrations. October 4th & 5th, 2008 Saturday
