Play with Clay
- Every Sunday from 1pm-3pm
$25 per
person. Reservations required. Have you ever wondered what
it is like to create pottery on the wheel? This two-hour
mini class is perfect for those who would like an to acquaint
themselves with the medium of clay....or can be used as a means
to possibly improve throwing techniques if already experienced
in clay. Instruction, materials and tools included. Due
to the nature of the process it is not feasible to
bring home your work created during this one-time class.
Adults only please, unless a family or group of 4 or more
reserves the day. Please dress to get dirty.
Hands-on Pit and Smoke Firing

Experience hands-on the primitive firing techniques of pit and smoke
firing. Learn which clays work best and how to
prepare them to receive the best color. Learn tips on how
to avoid disaster. Participants are allowed
to bring up to 10 bisque fired pots to fire during the
workshop. Space is limited, reservations
required. $30 non-refundable registration fee and remainder due 30days prior

"The Fire Within" with Dick Lehman

Hands-on Fast Fossil/Saggar Firing, building slam
molds and throwing altered forms. Discussion and slides
featuring a 20 year retrospective of Dick's work, finding your
own voice, developing a studio, wood firing, side firing
and saggar firing.
Captivating
Crystals by Brooks
Bouwkamp Exhibit: July 1 -
Aug 2 Hours: Wed-Sun
10-5 -Open to the public and by appointment
Glazes as fascinating as
fireworks, snowflakes or natural textures. Brooks'
uncomplicated forms compliment the visual excitement of the
crystalline glazes which he creates.
This unique firing process makes
each one unique and one-of-a-kind. His functional forms
are elegant and useful.

2nd Annual Lakeshore Harvest Country - Family
Farm Fest
Saturday, July

Visit all Lakeshore Harvest Country farms on this special
day for families. Play games, pick fresh fruit, learn about
animals and experience farm life in this hands-on celebration of

Khnemu Studio on Fernwood Farm will have the
following activities: Chickens hatching, Llama wool spinning
w/visiting artists, kids "make & take" craft table, pottery
demonstrations and MORE! All 11 member farms will have
activities.

Like cycles of the moon, there is a strong ebb
and flow of nature's current in her work.
Her work tells a changing story. She
evolves while traveling through natures changing cycles.
The open mouths on her figures symbolize the voice with - The Divine
Source. It is through working with clay that she finds her
voice.
Each piece tells its own story, taking you on your own
personal journey.

An exhibit of handmade bowls by members of the West MI
Potters Guild. All proceeds from the sale of work featured
in this exhibit to be donated to God's Kitchen and Second Harvest
Gleaners of West MI. All bowls are donated by the

Potluck Raku Firing Day
Saturday, Sept. 12 Time:
10am til complete $50 person - Reservations Required
Experience the Raku firing process
hands-on. Participants to bring up to 3 pieces of bisque fired
work, created from a claybody suitable for the Raku firing
process. Participants to bring a dish to pass for a potluck
lunch. Then studio will provide tableware and beverages.
For additional $50 the studio will provide up to 3 bisque fired
works to fire during the event. Glazes, horsehair and
equipment provided.

20th Annual Blue Coast Artists Fall Tour of
Studios Tour the members studios during a crisp fall
weekend and be treated to complimentary refreshments and
art-making demonstrations. October 3rd & 4th,
2009 Saturday & Sunday
10am-6pm

and other pottery making demonstrations. A do-it-yourself

3rd Annual Lakeshore Harvest Country
- Road Rally

Lakeshore Harvest Country. It's not a race! Rally
participants carefully navigate back roads to visit farms and
other notable destinations. Everyone celebrates with
refreshments at the final stop, and a trophy for the winning
