Les Boschke -
Photographer
Les boschke's motivation to
becoming a photographer was by one of his first
occupations. A communications technician on a Navy
submarine. One of his duties was to take surveillance photos
from a periscope. He bought his first serious camera while
stationed in Japan, and the spark was ignited.
After entering the real,
civilian world he began to study art & photography at the Univ.
of Wisc., receiving a BFA in photo. After graduation he moved
to Chicago, began graduate school at the School of the Art Institute
of Chicago, but quit the academic world to intern and assist working
photographers in Chicago.
In 1982 he began operating
an independent studio, specializing in location photography,
Since that period he has been photographing architecture on a
national level, while continuing to
produce personal photography.
His personal work involves
on-going projects including nudes, Michigan landscapes,
European gardens, and more recently macro images of flowers and
exotic pets.
 Artist's
Statement:
My work is personal and
diverse. I enjoy the continuing challenge
of photography. My subjects include my daily
surroundings, plus an introduction of classic art
subjects including nude figures and old gardens.
I am fortunate to live
in two distinctive environments, each extreme, one rural and one urban. Both are unique, each
offers its own beauty. |
