John Nester
John Nester taught Ceramics and Drawing at York High School for 32 years; taught ceramics for College of DuPage evening classes for 18 years, and now in retirement is teaching ceramics at Elmhurst College. John has also enjoyed working with the Elmhurst Art Museum starting in 1997 when he was asked to design a clay sculpture for an EAM community fundraiser. The end result was Illinois first clay stump where over 500 people of families and friends joined to mixed clay with their feet; shape and carve tiles all to the theme of "Art from your Heart". The Four columns on the south east corner of the museum are a wonderful monument to the Elmhurst Community's support of the Arts. John is currently teaching adult figure drawing classes for the EAM education program.
